Pictures: ‘Aiea High School May Day 2006

I wrote extensively about May Day in my May Day 1999 album so go there if you want a background of the celebration in Hawai‘i. The following photos on this page were taken in April 2006 (May Day at Aiea, at least during the time I attended, was celebrated in April) at Aiea High School's biennual biennial May Day celebration. I graduated from AHS in 2005, but I came back for this celebration for a couple of reasons: First, I was myself a member of the May Day court back in 2004. Second, my friend Maruel was elected a May Day Prince for this particular year. I don't know most of the people in these photos so this page will for the most part just list the photos in the order that they were taken.

May Day 2006

The colors go as follows: Gray represents Kaho‘olawe, Light Blue represents Ni‘ihau (which really should be white, but I guess they decided that white would clash with the colors of the King and Queen and that they needed to throw in blue somewhere), Green represents Moloka‘i, Orange represents Lana‘i, Purple represents Kaua‘i, Yellow represents O‘ahu, Pink represents Maui, and Red represents the Big Island of Hawai‘i. Aside from the King and Queen, court members include: Ashley Endo, Maruel Unrein, Kanani Mundon, Ryan Okinaka, Tasha Ah Nee, Shannen Johnson, Chasily Guzman, Kaiulani Ah Mook Sang, Sky Alena Parker, and Sabrina Peters, and several unidentified princes.	4
