Terms of Use for Site Photos

Q: Are these pictures free? May I use them?

A: Well, you may do the following with them.
  • Save them to disk
  • Print them out
  • Use as wallpaper, screen savers, etc.
  • Use for your binders, or other stupid stuff.
But you may not:
  • Republish them in any way.
  • Use them to post on any other webpages, xangas, message boards besides Kalauao unless I give permission for you to first. I'm sorry people, but this includes xanga and myspace.
  • Send it to other people via e-mail, IM, P2P software, etc.
  • Use them in any other way besides those listed to the left under "you may do the following with them." If you specifically ask me, I may allow you to use pictures depending on how you are planning to use them.

There are exceptions to the above rules. If you appear in a particular picture, you may use the picture that you appear in however you wish. However you may not use a picture that you do not appear in (as the picture appears on this website). You may also use any picture on the site (except those marked "DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE") if your name is on the following list: Nanea, Faye, Monty, Nicole, Steven (these people have asked for my permission...if you want your name on the list, please ask me). Also, in the albums on this site, those marked with "DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE" in the left column may not be used under any conditions.

You may not use any pictures that have been donated for use on the site by people other than the webmaster. This includes the entire 6th grade album, Faye's birthday party 2002, and whereever else noted, particularly parts of the A Life in 8th Grade in Pictures album, and also whereever else a picture is credited to someone besides me.

By using this page, you must agree to all of the above terms.

Lastly, this isn't a binding term, but please don't complain about the content of these pages unless you yourself appear in the particular picture or caption you want to complain about. I take photography pretty seriously (though not in a professional context) so I try to think before I publish my work. I am open to any comments or suggestions, though, negative ones included. There's a fine line between negative comments and complaining but I'm sure you can figure that one out.
